  • Hypnosis is a natural shift in conscious awareness which is a completely safe and normal part of our daily lives. We often go into a state of hypnosis many times in a day, for example if we are watching television, driving, or exercising. Entering this distinct conscious state enables limitless opportunities and possibilities for restorative, positive change. The state of hypnosis enables us to use our thoughts, skills and abilities in ways that are not usually available to us. Hypnosis replicates the Rapid Eye Movement (REM) state which enables you to process events, challenge negative thought patterns and let go of unhealthy habits so that you can adopt positive, new changes in your life.

  • Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (SFH) is a combination of safe, well-researched, medically recognised therapeutic techniques with the added benefit of hypnosis. A powerful therapeutic approach, Solution Focused Hypnotherapy focuses on your own skills and resources to encourage motivation and optimism to overcome any challenges and bring about positive change. There is less focus on the problem or on past events, instead attention centres around the present moment, self-empowerment and what you would like to achieve going forwards. The client and the therapist work together to look at positive changes that can be adopted. SFH incorporates a combination of elements of talking therapy, Neuro-Linguistic Therapy (NLP), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), followed by hypnosis to consolidate the thinking processes to facilitate change.  

  • Solution Focused hypnotherapy involves the therapist guiding the client into a state of deep relaxation which enables access to the subconscious mind. This is the area of the brain where behaviour patterns, habits and reactions are formed. Through imagery and positive suggestion, the therapist can focus on thinking patterns, habits and behaviours that the client wants to change. The individual is always in control, with the mind only accepting suggestions it agrees with. The process is entirely natural and changes come from within.

    An advantage of hypnotherapy is that the analytical and conscious area of the mind is bypassed. This part of the brain can sometimes hamper success in other forms of therapy. Instead, the imagination rather than the intellectual part of the brain is active. Through our imagination we have great power to learn new, healthier behaviours. Positive results can therefore be attained quickly, are long-lasting and permanent.

    Solution focused therapy draws on practical, well researched and clinically proven strategies such as aspects of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), brain-based NLP and Mindfulness.  Therapy is client-centred and is adapted to suit each individuals’ needs and requirements.
